Important information on tax cards for 2025

Below we provide important information on the new validity period of the 2025 tax card. We also provide instructions on how to order a revised tax card for benefits if needed.
Tax cards for 2025 will be valid from the beginning of January
Starting from 2025, tax cards will be valid from the beginning of the year. In other words, tax cards for 2025 will become valid on 1 January 2025 (instead of 1 February as before). This means that you will receive your tax card for the coming year already in December. Read more about the change from the Tax Administration's website.
Please note, starting from 2025, that the income ceiling on the tax card will be calculated for the entire calendar year, whereas previously it was based on an 11-month income period.
If you are a member of the Unemployment Fund of Service Union United, we will receive your tax card for wage income automatically from the Tax Administration.
WIth a tax card for wage income, the Fund will withhold a minimum tax of 25 % from earnings-related allowance, as per the Tax Administration's guidelines. '
You can check your tax rate and, if necessary, request a revised tax card for benefits.
How do I request a revised tax card for benefits?
You can order a revised tax card for benefits from the Tax Administration's MyTax service. When selecting ”Palvelualojen työttömyyskassa” as the benefit payer, the revised tax card will be sent automatically to the Fund on the next business day. You can also request a revised tax card for benefits from the Tax Administration's telephone service (tel. 029 497 050).
Please note that the tax card for benefits is different from a regular income tax card.
Please note that you can request a revised tax card for benefits for the upcoming year only after you have received your 2025 tax card.
